Event cancellations due COVID-19 pandemic

Due to COVID-19 virus and pandemic, the State of Michigan declared state of emergency and urged all events and gatherings with more than 100 people to be cancelled. In addition, the Governor Witmer cancelled all K12 education until April 6th, 2020, and many public higher education institutions suspended on-campus instruction. As of March 12th, 2020, there are 12 confirmed cases in Michigan and the number of cases is expected to rise exponentially in the following days.

In light of this information, TACAM Board of Directors decided to suspend all activities and programs that are scheduled to be held at TACAM Cultural Center until further notice. This includes the Martyrs’ Day and Breakfast event on next Sunday, March 22, 2020. The objective is to minimize gatherings of large groups and avoid extended time in close proximity with one another. This decision is consistent with the recommendations of local, state and federal health officials on how to limit the spread of COVID-19. The board will continue to evaluate the current situation, following the directions provided by the state and federal offices regarding the COVID-19.

TACAM would like to remind you to follow the prevention suggestions of Center for Disease Control and keep those impacted in your thoughts.
