Ataturk Memorial Day

We thank all who joined us to celebrate the life of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on his 83rd anniversary of passing. More than 30 Turkish Americans including young and elderly gathered at TACAM Ataturk Park to remember and commemorate Atatürk . The short program included a remarks by president Mehmet E. Yaya and past president & Atatürk Park Committee Chair Nilüfer Esen-Bilgin, followed by a night walk around the Atatürk park with candles. TACAM would like to thank everyone who attended the event and hope to continue to pass the legacy of our founder M.K. Ataturk to the generations to come.

Atatürk was one of the greatest leaders of all times! Not only Turks, but also the most other people in the world understand and appreciate his wisdom and legacy.

It is also a great coincidence that Nov 10 is celebrated as the Science Day for Peace and Development since its proclamation by UNESCO in 2001. We can not think of a more suitable day to celebrate his legacy, since he emphasized the importance of science and rational thinking more than anything else during his life.
