Ahead of our Republic Day Ball, join us for a ceremony at TACAM to celebrate the Republic Day in front of the Atatürk statue at TACAM.
The program will start with wreath placing and singing the national anthems, which will follow with talks addressing the importance of the day.
We will continue with the unveiling of the Âşık Veysel bust at the TACAM Atatürk Park. Since Âşık Veysel has been included in UNESCO’s 2023 commemoration program on the 50th anniversary of his passing, he will be acknowledged in front of his bust which was recently commissioned from the sculptor Gökhan Garip and placed at the sculpture court of the park. Âşık Veysel Şatıroğlu (1894-1973) was a Turkish ashik, a highly regarded poet of the Turkish folk literature. His first poem was an epic on the republic, “Cumhuriyet Destanı”, which he wrote on the 10th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye in 1933.
The program will end after a walk in the park with lanterns.
