Register with Outreach
Because of the wide-ranging and aggressive nature of the new TACAM outreach initiative and grassroots campaign, it is essential that we understand our community and you. We have devised a simple, private 5-minute registration to help us gauge our constituents and volunteers better. Registering is required if you would like to participate or volunteer with our outreach efforts.

TACAM’s goals for grassroots and outreach activities, as defined by the Board of Directors and participants of relevant committees, are centered around four key themes:
- Inspire, empower, and motivate Turks and Turkish-Americans in Michigan to participate in advocacy and service projects to the benefit of our ethnic community, and the State of Michigan.
- Supplement the relatively small Turkish population in Michigan with multi-ethnic and multi-cultural partnerships with communities — taking advantage of unique ethnic demographics in Michigan.
- Contact and inform state and national elected officials on Turkish-Americans, the Republic of Turkey, and issues relevant to building strong Turkish-American relations.
- Educate Michigan citizens of all backgrounds on the peoples and cultures of Türkiye with exceptional presentations fine-tuned for specific audiences, including contacting and informing local media.
If you are interested in joining any of these subcommittees, or just being a part of our grassroots and outreach efforts, please contact us using one of the means above and be sure to register on our online form.
Public Outreach Subcommittee
This committee will have enthusiastic individuals who will be able to help the grassroots committee with several aspects, including event organizing, visiting political officeholders, and other important tasks that may yield valuable recognition and attention for the Turkish community.
Cultural Liaison Subcommittee
The committee will consist of members who have close contacts with individuals in leadership positions within various ethnic and cultural groups in Michigan.
School and Library Monitoring Committee
This committee’s members will consist of individuals who live in various places throughout Michigan and will visit their local libraries in order to determine what books relevant to Turkey, are located there. They should also learn about textbooks used and curricular standards for their local school districts to determine if any relevant information for our committee exists.
Media Monitoring Subcommittee
These volunteers will monitor local, state, and national media to find articles relevant to Turkey, Turkish-Americans, and issues relevant to these groups and may also be involved in establishing relationships between TACAM and various media outlets.
Legislative and Political monitoring Subcommittee
These members monitor the activities of both the Michigan legislature and their local city councils, but also have the additional task of monitoring political statements and activities from the various political parties.
Turkish Empowerment Subcommittee
Members of this community will help TACAM Grassroots achieve its goals by assisting with technical support, financial support, and training in order to make the most of limited funds and limited time from committed, but busy, volunteers.
