Turkish Classes for Children / ‘Yaşasın Türkçe Öğreniyorum!’
Registration Period: November 29 – December 5, 2022
Classes start on 11 December 2022. Every Sunday between 9:30 am – 11:00 am, except holidays and breaks.
Dear Parents,
As the TACAM Education Committee, we would like to announce that our project “Yaşasın Türkçe Öğreniyorum!” once again starts on December 11, 2022. We set out for the children of Turkish families who live in the United States. We aim to make them speak, understand the Turkish language better and discover the richness of Turkish culture.
As the Education Committee, with our instructors, we are planning our weekly online/virtual program for our dear children. We kindly ask you to fill and complete the registration form by December 5, 2022. If you already filled out the pre-registration form, you will still need to fill out the form above to confirm your registration.

Our Teachers:
We want to inform you that this year, teacher Ayşın Sezgen will be joining us to take care of our beginner level class. Ayşın Sezgen moved to Michigan a year ago. She worked as a classroom teacher for 12 years and a Turkish teacher for 6 years before coming to America. She studied classroom teaching at Uludağ University and graduated in 2000. She received Turkish education certificate for foreign nationals from Bursa TÖMER in 2019. As TACAM Turkish Education Committee, we’re happy to have her on board.
As in the last 2 years, Ömrüm Erdaş Keşmer will still be with us again this year. After graduating from Saint Benoit French High School, she decided to become a French teacher and completed her education in this field. After working at various high schools and universities for 10 years, they moved to America with their 7-year-old son in 2019 due to her husband’s job. Upon meeting with TACAM in 2020, she received a certificate of being able to teach Turkish to foreign nationals. She feels very lucky to be able to teach Turkish language and culture to children for the third time in the new term. We’re so grateful for her continuous support of Turkish classes.
Registration Details:
Once we finalized the registration period, our teachers will set up a 1-to-1 virtual meeting with student and parents to meet and answer any questions you may have.
In order to fund our teachers, we need your contribution that will support us and enable TACAM to create programs like this in the future. As TACAM Board of Directors, we kindly ask for the following registration fees.
Registration Fees
TACAM Members: $200/child – Each Sibling 50% discount
Non-TACAM Members: $300/child – Each Sibling 50% discount
TACAM Membership: $75/individual – $150/family
