Loving husband of the late Zehra Saduman (2004) and loving father of Ali, son of the late Mediha. Survived by many wonderful friends in Canada, the United States and İstanbul. Dr. Parla graduated from the University of İstanbul School of Medicine in 1947 having been a pupil of the prominent professor, Dr. Erich Frank. Dr and Mrs. Parla were married in İstanbul in 1953 and immigrated to Canada in 1957, eventually settling in Windsor in 1962. Dr Parla was a staff physician at the former Riverview Hospital and carried on a very successful and busy family practice until closing his office in 1992, followed by assisting in surgery until he was 80. He often enjoyed recounting stories of his childhood spent in İstanbul, especially with his Aunt Didar at the Afif Paşa Yalı in İstanbul, and traveling with Saduman to Egypt, Greece, the Caribbean, throughout Turkey and with Ali to Hong Kong, Singapore and Hawaii.

At the family’s request, no flowers, but rather a donation to the Windsor Essex Humane Society would be appreciated.

An informal funeral service will take place on Sunday at 3:30pm. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
