A panel discussion sponsored by TACAM, ATAA and Turkish Cultural Student Association of Eastern Michigan University on the Armenian genocide allegations with the participation of Prof. Dr. Michael M. Gunter and Mr. Bruce Fein were held on April 11, 2015 at EMU Auditorium.
Michael M. Gunter is Professor of Political Science at Tennessee Technological University, an internationally recognized scholar, and a well-published specialist on the Kurds, Turks, and Armenians. Gunter earned his B.A. in American history in 1964 from Columbia University. He went on to receive his M.I.A. from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs in 1966. In 1972, he received his doctorate in international relations from Kent State.
Bruce Fein is a lawyer in the United States who specializes in constitutional and international law. Fein received his degree in law from Harvard Law School in 1972. He is a former scholar at the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA), and in collaboration with the Turkish American Legal Defense Fund, and actively participates in the Armenian-Turkish dispute with regard to their shared history and questions.
Both Prof. Dr. Gunter and Mr. Fein have discussed about the tragedy and whether this tragedy constituted genocide on its 100th anniversary. We invite all of our members to join us in this important and timely discussion.
