Merve Bayram Şahin
Originally from Burhaniye, Balıkesir, Merve Bayram Şahin has been living in Northville, Michigan, since 2019. She is an ESL teacher and a mother of two. With a strong passion for education and native language awareness, she has been actively involved in Turkish language classes organized by TACAM since 2020. As a Turkish Language and Culture instructor, she is dedicated to teaching children their mother tongue and cultural heritage. Additionally, through her role as an education project coordinator within TACAM, she aims to help Turkish-American children growing up in the U.S. preserve their cultural identities, following the path set by Atatürk.
Merve Bayram Şahin views the Turkish language not just as a means of communication but as a bridge connecting the past and the future. She works with great dedication to instill this awareness in children.
Since 2024, she has also been serving as the secretary of TACAM and takes great pride in being part of this well-established community and contributing to the promotion of Turkish culture.
