The TACAM High School Chapter was initiated in December 2019 as part of TACAM's outreach activities. The founding members include Burak Arslan, Kaan Atak, Eren Okuyucu, Ezgi Poyraz, and Mehmet Taşçıoğlu. The program provides an opportunity for Turkish youth in grades 9-12 to develop their leadership skills through various charitable projects.
The mission of the program is to preserve Turkish heritage and culture while giving back to the community. It benefits high school students by helping them enhance their leadership skills and build strong resumes—an important factor in university admissions. At the same time, the program supports the Turkish community in Michigan through social responsibility projects, such as:
- Food and clothing drives to assist those in need
- Political activism by engaging with public officers
The TACAM High School Chapter operates under the supervision of the TACAM Education and Outreach Committee. The committee has engaged with several interested students and continues to welcome new participants.
- For parents or guardians: If your high school-age child is interested in joining the TACAM High School Chapter, please reach out.
- For adults: If you’d like to contribute to the Education and Outreach Committee, contact us at contact@tacam.org.
It's not too late to participate and make a difference!
