TACAM: Pioneering the Turkish community in Michigan
Founded in 1972, has a mission to foster, promote, plan and execute programs aimed at improving the economic, social, educational, general welfare and other humanitarian activities of the Turkish American community in the State of Michigan and elsewhere. TACAM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit association.
Our website averages about 2100 monthly visits.
The website generates over 2,100 page views a month. In addition, bi-weekly emails are distributed to over 700 addresses across America and internationally, referencing our website, TACAM.org.
The TACAM Newsletter is published online and emailed to nearly 800 addresses.
TACAM publication has been a tradition since 1975, creating Turkish awareness throughout Michigan and abroad, and providing opportunities for local writers to engage with the larger world of culture and current events. The TACAM newsletter covers a wide range of topics in culture, politics, history, and community news for those in Michigan and abroad. Currently, it is published yearly and distributed mainly online but also available in print in limited numbers, which can be found at the TACAM library.

Support the mission of TACAM
TACAM’s programs include promoting Turkish-Americans living within Michigan. We promote cultural independence, provide social function gatherings, provide educational workshops in the community, and political awareness. TACAM sponsors cultural events that educate the Michigan community. We conduct research or support such activities in social and cultural fields that promote Turkey and Turkish tradition through publications. Plus, conduct seminars and open houses to promote Turkish music, folklore and art.
