We are looking to begin Turkish folklore dance classes at TACAM building in the very near future. One of our members, Özgün Ulupınar, has volunteered to teach the course. She is also currently teaching at the TACAM Turkish school with our beginning-level students.
We are interested to learn the number of people that would like to join such a class. There is no age or ability requirement, the only thing we ask for is commitment to be at all practices. The classes will probably take place Sunday afternoon, following TACAM Turkish School.
If you, or your children, are interested in taking part in learning different dances from throughout Turkey, please email Jason Windes, TACAM School Coordinator at windes@gmail.com. In your email, please list the names of the people interested, as well as their ages (if not adults). For these dances to work well we will need a balanced number of men and women, and the same will be true for our young dancers, too!
We will provide more specifics and information after we’ve heard back from the interested individuals. We hope to get started very soon!
