
“Biblical Treasures of Turkey” received rave reviews by nearly 400 people, as profound work of the early years of Christianity in Turkey was shown at the Marquis Theatre in Northville on April 30, 2005. At his film showing, Robin D. Williams was present, one of America’s top documentary filmmakers and one of the most dynamic public speakers.
“Peace in the World” Initiative (PIW) is a national, non-profit organization that has been founded in Michigan with a handful of volunteers under ATAA leadership. The goal of PIW is to promote understanding and acceptance of differences in religions and cultures as well as worldwide peace. The motto of the group is based on our Turkish leader Kemâl Atatürk’s famous saying, “Peace at Home, Peace in the World.” “Peace in the World” Initiative was launched on May 14, 2005, at a Dinner Gala at the Palace of Southfield in Michigan. Among the attendees were Mr. Naci Koru, Consulate General of Turkey from Chicago; ATAA President Vural Cengiz; Honorary Consul Generals of Syria, Ukraine, France and Georgia; President of the India Chamber of Commerce; and Mr. John Akouri, Farmington Hills City Councilman.
