October 27, 2007 — 6:30pm – 1:00am
Farmington Hills Manor
By now, you should all have received TACAM Republic Day Ball invitations in the mail, so I wanted to take a few minutes of your time and emphasize how important it is for us to get together and celebrate the 84th Anniversary of the Turkish Republics this year. Our country is going through very sensitive times with multiple issues in the political arena – under this pressure, it’s extremely important for us to embrace a democratic and secular Turkish Republic and show that we will always be there for our country. As Mustafa Kemal Atatürk founded the Turkish Republic after a long war for independence and created this new nation with his reforms, it’s now our duty to show that we will carry on his vision and principles for the continuity of modern Turkey. For this reason, TACAM invites you to unite on October 27th and be the voice of Turkey in State of Michigan, so please come and celebrate this noble occasion with us. As space is limited, RSVP is mandatory for this event, so please mail in your cards at your earliest convenience.
TACAM Board is making every effort to make this a memorable event for all guests. Consul General, Hon. Kenan İpek is our Guest of Honor and will be in attendance to celebrate the 84th Anniversary of the Turkish Republic with us. The night’s entertainment will be provided by Dr. İlhan Sami Özulu, a very well known name to most of you as he’s the preferred musician of all prestigious events of the Midwest
. The surprise of the night will be our raffle ticket withdrawal for a free round trip airline ticket to Turkey, provided by Turkish Airlines. Our Silent Auction items are carefully selected to ensure they are items of interest for members of our community. And, let’s not forget the delicious dinner that will be served by Farmington Hills Manor. We are the owners of Turkish Republic and of the ideas planted by our leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, so the day should be ours filled with joy and pride – looking forward to celebrating will all of you!
Sincerely,
Didem Şeyhoğlu
2007-2008 TACAM President
