You are cordially invited to our event for the TACAM Property Improvement Fundraiser with live music and Kurban Bayramı
Among the Turkish American associations in the United States, TACAM is one of the few that owns a building to serve as a gathering place for its members. However, our building’s condition is poor; it is in need of urgent repairs. At this time, informal estimates received from knowledgeable friends suggest that the costs of minimal repairs are likely to exceed several thousand dollars (listed below).
We are reaching out to the Turkish-American Community — including yourself — to begin a donation at $35 per person to help rebuild our Cultural Center. Your contributions will be tax-deductible right before the tax year is over, and you can make a simple donation online today! Even if you cannot make it to our event, please consider donating to the cause.
Demir Ceylan, who performed a stellar show at the sold out Republic Day Ball a week ago, has offered to perform at this event at no cost prior to returning to Germany. Since Kurban Bayramı is just around the corner and the spirit is in giving back to others, we decided to organizer another wonderful event to begin our fundraising campaign, while observing an important event in our Turkish community. Demir Ceylan will also educate us about the Turkish Engineering Association of Germany, which TACAM is planning to create alliances for networking, internships and jobs in the future.
Food and beverage will be donated at no cost by our members, and you are most welcome to bring a dish with you to share (you can even let us know ahead of time.)

Proposed Use of Donations
Among the items that need to be repaired urgently are the two restrooms, water purification system, carpet replacement and interior painting. We are in the process of arranging for professional assessment of the needed restoration, and estimates of the costs involved. We will inform you of accurate cost assessments as soon as they become available. The $35 donation suggested above is based on an expectation that 100 members may wish to support the restoration initiative, thus yielding $3,500, the estimated minimum amount needed. We realize that we may not achieve 100 donors, and some of the donors may be able to provide less than $35. Please donate as much as you can, may be even $50, $100, $500! The more money we can invest in the restoration, the better Cultural Center our members will own.
