Join us for a celebration of International Women’s Day on Mar 10th Saturday, 2:00- 4:00 pm.
At this event Prof. Ann Larimore will give a brief presentation about the history of International Women’s Day and the progress toward women’s equality in the 100 or so years since the first International Women’s Day, and she will share her experience about the women profile back in the 60s in Turkey.
Then we will continue with a 40 min movie screening: “Atatürk’ün Alev Çiçekleri”. This movie is about the intellectual women raised during the first years of Republic of Turkey, and how the Republic respected women’s right, and encouraged education of women.
