TACAM would like to take this opportunity to explain an exciting new chapter in our activities. We have recently been awarded a grant through the ATAA and the Turkish Coalition of America in order to help organize Michigan Turks and Turkish-Americans to be more active and involved in the political process.
This grant allows for TACAM to have a part-time coordinator for this program, Jason Windes, to make sure the goals of the grant are realized. One of the most important goals for the TACAM Board was to ensure this project also matched the mission of TACAM to “improve the humanitarian and cultural welfare of the Turkish community in Michigan and abroad.”
We are joined in this effort by the Grassroots Committee Chairman Gökhan Özalp and co-chair Mickey Katz-Pek, who have already contributed greatly to our efforts, and are excellent examples of how with our combined effort we may work together towards the common goals of the Turkish community in Michigan.
Please consider donating some of your time, energy, and resources towards helping Turkish-American advocacy in Michigan. Our committee cannot do it alone, we need your help in order to make sure as many voices of the Turkish community as possible are heard.
