Before the end of 2011, ethnic special interest groups in Congress are back again trying to target Turkey with their limited agenda. House Resolution 306 introduced by Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) earlier in the year, may be brought for a full House consideration on December 13, 2011 (TOMORROW). H.R. 306 claims that Turkey is destroying its ancient and modern Christian heritage and communities. Such allegations of cultural genocide are invalidated by the report of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and the 2010 progress report of the European Union, both of which commend the freedom of religion in Turkey.
Join the Turkish- and Turkic-Americans to ask your representatives to oppose HR 306 if it comes up for a vote in Congress.
